A corner is a compromise between two goals: carrying speed into it and launching speed out of it. The racing line solves it by using the full width of the track — wide entry, clip the inside at the apex, wide exit — which creates the largest possible radius. A larger radius means more speed for the same grip. Simple physics, huge lap time.
And here is the part most drivers learn late: corners are won at the exit. Every km/h you carry onto the straight stays with you for its entire length. That is why professionals sacrifice entry speed to perfect the exit — the straight is just a multiplier of the corner before it.

Consistency at the apex is not talent — it is procedure. Professionals build every corner from fixed references: a braking marker, a turn-in point, the apex itself, and an exit marker. Your eyes do the rest: look at the apex before you turn in, and at the exit before you reach the apex. The car goes where the eyes go.
