Tech.Databank

The Science of Pressure

Most sim racing pedals measure force by compressing rubber against a load cell. The GT-R compresses air in a sealed cylinder — the same physical principle as a racing brake caliper. This section explains what that means in practice.

Physics & Telemetry

A Resistance Curve That Matches Reality

Compressed air produces a progressive, non-linear resistance curve — the same shape your foot learns in a real car. Rubber elastomers produce a mostly linear response and soften as they heat up. The R-Piston's curve stays identical at lap one and lap five hundred: no thermal fade.

Aerospace Hardware

R-Piston V5 · AL6061-T6

The pneumatic cylinder is machined from solid aerospace-grade aluminum with an aerospace stainless steel core. Rigidity in the structure means the pressure you apply is the pressure the simulator receives.

Reliability Data

Tested for 3.5 Million Kilometers

Industrial NBR seals and an elastomer-free design allow the R-Piston to carry a 3.5 million kilometer endurance rating with no performance degradation — and no replacement parts schedule.

Installation & Requirements

⚠️

A rigid cockpit is required

Pneumatic brakes operate at real-car pedal forces. The GT-R requires a rigid cockpit with a firm pedal mount to work as designed.

Not recommended for:

  • Flex-prone wheel stands
  • Floor mounting without reinforcement
  • Cockpits without a solid seat-to-pedal connection

Not sure about your rig? Send a photo of your setup to info@simracing-pro.com and we will assess compatibility before you order.

Mounting Compatibility

Universal Mounting Dimensions

The GT-R installs directly on:

  • 80/20 aluminum profile rigs
  • Major cockpit brands (Sim-Lab, Trak Racer, GT Omega, Advanced Sim Racing)
  • Custom fabricated frames
  • Perforated pedal plates

Compatible with both direct profile mounting and standard pedal plate configurations.

  1. RG

    Bonjour,

  3. ML

Frequently Asked Questions

SRP® GT-R FAQ

What makes the GT-R different from the GT-S?

The GT-R is the flagship multi-discipline series: it includes the adjustable brake travel regulator (15–45 mm), a full structural monocoque baseplate and lever-based pedal angle adjustment as standard. The GT-S shares the same R-Piston V5 pneumatic brake in a more compact format, with those upgrades available separately.

How is a pneumatic brake different from a load cell?

Load cells measure force through static rubber compression, which responds mostly linearly and degrades with heat. The GT-R's R-Piston compresses air dynamically, producing the progressive resistance curve of a real master cylinder — with no thermal fade and no maintenance, rated for 3.5 million kilometers.

Is the GT-R compatible with my cockpit?

The GT-R has universal mounting dimensions compatible with 80/20 profile rigs, major cockpit brands (Sim-Lab, Trak Racer, GT Omega, Advanced Sim Racing), custom frames and perforated pedal plates. A rigid cockpit is required. Send a photo of your setup to info@simracing-pro.com for a free compatibility assessment.

Can I use the GT-R on PlayStation or Xbox?

The GT-R is natively compatible with PC via USB-C. For PlayStation and Xbox it works through the DriveHub adapter (sold separately by third parties), which translates the signal for console use.

What maintenance does the GT-R require?

None. The R-Piston uses an aerospace stainless steel core with industrial NBR seals, rated for 3.5 million kilometers without performance degradation. No elastomers to replace, no fluids to change, no recalibration schedule.

What is MySETUP and how much does it cost?

MySETUP is SRP's free calibration and telemetry software, available at simracing-pro.com/downloads. It shapes brake curves and deadzones, manages unlimited profiles per car, maps live adjustments to your wheel buttons and includes PRO MODE algorithms developed with professional sim racers.

Can I upgrade my 2-pedal GT-R to 3 pedals later?

Yes. The GT-R Clutch Kit converts any 2-pedal GT-R into a complete 3-pedal ecosystem using the same R-Piston technology. It bolts directly onto the existing monocoque baseplate — no modifications required.

Can the GT-R be mounted inverted?

Yes. The GT-R Inverted Kit repositions the pedals in the hanging configuration of a real car, popular for GT and drift setups. The optional Inverted Accelerator Extension fine-tunes the throttle height.

What does the GT-R warranty cover?

Spain: 3-year full warranty. International: 2-year full warranty. If an issue arises, SRP ships replacement parts at no cost and covers outbound shipping. If a defective part must be returned, you have 15 days to send it by the most economical method.

Where can I get help setting up my GT-R?

Three free channels: the manual and assembly guides at simracing-pro.com/downloads, the SRP Discord community with more than 1,500 sim racers, and direct email support at info@simracing-pro.com — where you can also send a photo of your rig for a compatibility check.

Where are GT-R pedals made?

Every GT-R is designed, CNC-machined, anodized and assembled in-house in Barcelona, Spain. Each unit is individually inspected before shipping.

What payment and financing options are available?

Financing is available through Klarna and PayPal (worldwide), Aplazame (Spain and Portugal) and SeQura (Spain, Portugal, Italy and France). The options available for your country are shown automatically at checkout.
